Team Relay Recap (Finally)

Well more than a week after the VisitPA.com International Intergalactic Global Open Mountain Bike Team Relay Championship of the Universe Including the Anti-Matter One. (There, That Should About Cover It.) wrapped up, here is a quick and dirty synopsis.

Despite the rain the previous couple days, race day was clear, sunny, and windy. The course was soggy but not too muddy except for the swampy field section. With 70+ 4 person teams out on the course, it tracked in quickly and provided quite a challenge for the defending champs of VisitPA.com's "A" team. Like last year the "A" team, managed to put in the most laps with 18 and only 2 other teams had the same. If the relay consisted of only that then we would have been hoisting the cup again this year. Kuhndog had other plans and with a revised handicapping system, this year the result was quite different.

These 4 juniors from the Whiskey Springs Devo team turned themselves inside out to gain the top step of the podium and hoist the cup. Chapau lady and gentlemen. The best part of it was the kid in the blue jersey giving 110% to finish and lying on the ground after the finish shelled. When the final points were tallied the surprise on the Devo team's faces was awesome!!

Overall results and lap times are out on the innertubes somewhere, sorry I don't have the link.
I do know that Aaron Snyder had the fastest lap time of 13:04 and super fast lady from the HumanZoom/PBR team killed it with a 16:28.

Thanks to the Oesterlings who gave us use of their property, VisitPA.com and the teams sponsors: Cannondale, SRAM, Deuter, Rudy Project, and all the racers who ventured out. Great job everyone and hope to see you in late June at the VisitPA.com 12hr Stage Race.
